Nanophase Cosponsors Sixth Annual NanoBusiness Alliance Conference

ROMEOVILLE, IL | Posted on April 5th, 2007

Nanophase Technologies (Nasdaq: NANX), a technology leader in nanomaterials and
advanced nanoengineered products, announced plans to cosponsor and present
at the NanoBusiness Alliance 2007 Conference, April 15-17 at the New York
Marriott Marquis. As nanotechnology's foremost business conference,
NanoBusiness 2007 is intended for major stakeholders in the business of
nanotechnology and gathers important technologists, government and
investment leaders, nanotechnology business leaders, and investors for
three intensive days of seminars, presentations, and panel discussions.

NanoBusiness 2007 brings world-class nanotechnology companies to Wall
Street to highlight nanotech innovations that are expected to drive
shareholder value creation over the next decade. Joseph Cross, Nanophase's
president and CEO, will participate in a panel discussion on Monday, April
16, to discuss "Advanced Materials: Scaling the Business to a Size that
Matters" and present the Company's portfolio of nanomaterials technologies,
revenue growth strategies, and vision for the future to an investor forum
on Tuesday, April 17. Along with other nanotechnology executives, Mr. Cross
has also been invited to participate in NASDAQ's closing bell ceremonies on
Tuesday, April 17.

"NanoBusiness 2007 is a principal gathering of international
nanotechnology sectors and companies focused on the growth and rapid
commercialization of nanotechnologies," stated Mr. Cross. "This is a major
gathering of leading nanotechnology companies who are successfully
commercializing nanotech innovations across multiple sectors, showcasing
the 'here and now' as well as a vision of the future. Focusing on issues
and conditions that are expected to drive increased global implementation,
discussions range from technology to markets to corporate environmental and
workplace responsibility. It is an important business conference for
growing nanotechnologies that are undergoing an increasing rate of global
adoption, such as Nanophase."

Sean Murdock, Executive Director of the NanoBusiness Alliance stated,
"We are excited to have Joe Cross speaking about scaling the nanomaterials
business. Nanophase has been a world leader in commercializing
nanomaterials and has developed a network of partnerships with leading
incumbents that will allow the company to rapidly bring new innovations to
the marketplace."
