Diverse Grouping of Business Method and Computer & Data Patents to Be Sold at April Live Auction

Chicago, IL | Posted on April 5th, 2007

Ocean Tomo Auctions today announced it will sell lots offering a variety of patents ranging from business and computer technologies to data systems and storage methods at The Ocean Tomo Spring 2007 Live Intellectual Property Auction on April 19th at the Union League Club of Chicago.

One notable business method patent on the auction block includes a patent portfolio disclosing tools and techniques which provide notice of patent rights. This technology can be used to prove that an alleged infringer had knowledge of a patent without using expensive discovery and motion practice typically employed during patent litigation. Created by an experienced patent attorney, the invention provides a cost-effective alternative for placing potential infringers on notice of patent rights.

Another lot offers advancements in User Datagram Protocol (UDP) methods to achieve connectionless and packet-oriented for transferring data over a real-time distributed network. This technology is ideal for an assortment of applications, including Voice-Over-Internet-Protocol, which allows a user to make voice calls using a broadband Internet connection instead of a regular phone line.

An additional lot for sale discloses technology for increased storage capacity of an optical disk, which allows 40 to 100 times more capacity than a standard DVD. As reductions in planar size reach their limit, this pioneering portfolio offers a path to satisfy the continued push for additional storage capacity. This technology, recognized with a "Nano 50 Award" from Nanotech Briefs, which identifies the top 50 nanotech inventions of the year, opens up a new dimension in the capacities of advanced optical storage.

"After careful review of all submissions received, we are excited to offer such valuable and diverse portfolios containing technologies which will make a direct impact within their respective industries," said Andrew T. Ramer, President of Ocean Tomo Auctions.

Unique Acquisition Opportunity

Acquisition of these lots represents a unique opportunity for numerous industries including, but not limited to: Internet Service Providers, Information Management and Business Solutions Providers, Law Firms, Litigation Management Consultancies, Timepiece Manufacturers, Consumer Electronics Manufacturers, Handset Device Manufacturers and Software Developers, MRAM Architecture Designers, Computer Systems Designers, and Processor and System Bus Designers.
