Vinod Khosla to Keynote Cleantech 2007

SANTA CLARA, CA | Posted on March 22nd, 2007

Cleantech 2007 today announced that Vinod Khosla, Silicon Valley icon and founder of Khosla Ventures, will deliver the opening keynote for the conference. Cleantech 2007 was founded with the unique mission of uniting the technology, business, and venture communities in spotlighting new research just coming out of the lab. Produced by TechConnect.org and collocated with the 10th annual Nanotech 2007 conference, Cleantech 2007 will be held May 23-24, 2007 at the Santa Clara Convention Center.

Khosla Ventures is arguably the top venture firm in the U.S. focusing on alternative, clean energy systems. "By looking deeper into nature's abundance, we've discovered that plants such as grass and corn stalks or things like wood chips and much more can be turned into clean fuel," said Mr. Khosla, founder of Khosla Ventures, LLC. "We think even waste products can be recycled into eco-friendly fuel tomorrow, reducing our reliance on burning dirty fossil fuels. I look forward to talking about several promising areas at Cleantech 2007."

"Mr. Khosla has tremendously beneficial experience and insight to share with our Cleantech 2007 audience on both advanced technologies as well as the investments and partnerships that are transforming cleantech into a high-growth sector of our economy," said Matthew Laudon, PhD, Executive Director of TechConnect.org.

Mr. Khosla has been called one of the nation's most influential ethanol advocates and labeled the number 1 VC by Forbes magazine. Fortune recently noted, "there are venture capitalists, and there's Vinod Khosla." Prior to founding Khosla Ventures, Mr. Khosla was the founding CEO of Sun Microsystems, and a co-founder of Daisy Systems.

Cleantech 2007 will bring bleeding edge innovations and the scientific community behind them to the forefront of the global sustainability forum. Scientific and technical experts at Cleantech 2007 will discuss radical advancements upon traditional technologies, cutting-edge pollution-control and waste-reduction technologies, and emerging clean business practices.
