Abstract:
The New York Biotechnology Association (NYBA, www.nyba.org), a not-for-profit trade association dedicated to the development and growth of New York State-based biotechnology related industries, announced today that Nathan Tinker has been named Executive Director of the association. Dr. Tinker brings extensive leadership experience and abilities to the post as well as a history of achievements providing strategic business direction to an array of clients and commercial organizations. This appointment was effective as of March 5, 2007.

Van Nostrand, Chairman of the NYBA Board and Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer, OSI Pharmaceuticals, Inc. "We were impressed with his accomplishments and professional experience, and we believe that his vision, leadership qualities and determination will be critical assets in support of our organization's growth and overall position within an evolving biotechnology marketplace in New York State."

Dr. Tinker has an extensive background in high technology public policy, communications, and industry relations. He formerly served as Founder and Executive Vice President of the NanoBusiness Alliance, the trade association of the nanotechnology community, as well as Executive Director of the Cancer Vaccine Consortium at the Sabin Vaccine Institute. Most recently, Dr. Tinker served as Director of Antenna Group's East Coast office leading communication initiatives for the company's biotechnology and high tech clients. Dr. Tinker holds a Ph.D. from Fordham University and an M.A. from Georgetown University and is a graduate of Gonzaga University with a degree in English.
