Probing inside cells
Abstract:
PROBING INSIDE CELLS: University of Illinois researchers have taken a step toward nanotech-based medicine, creating nanoelectrodes intended to go inside human cells to analyze their condition.
"Individual nanotube-based probes can be used for electrochemical and biochemical sensing," said Min-Feng Yu, a professor of mechanical science and engineering on the university's Urbana-Champaign campus. "The position of the nanoelectrodes can be controlled very accurately."
