UDRI lands $15M deal to improve armor for military

Abstract:
The University of Dayton Research Institute has secured a five-year, $15 million contract from the U.S. Army to use nanotechnology to develop armor for military vehicles.

The lightweight but sturdy armor eventually will be applied to other military uses as well as for police, firefighters, diplomats and others who need protection.
