At universities, time for re-examination

Abstract:
One of the new jewels of the University of Alberta, for instance, is the National Institute of Nanotechnology, which bills itself as "an integrated, multidisciplinary institution involving researchers in physics, chemistry, engineering, biology, informatics, pharmacy and medicine."
