Promotores push for Va. to lead in nanotechnology

Abstract:
"For Virginia, nanotechnology represents a platform, just like the World Wide Web, that can vastly improve the quality of our life," said state Secretary of Technology Aneesh Chopra. State government could identify public-sector needs that might benefit from a nanotechnology application -- for example, a product to help diagnose pandemic flu, he said. The state also has the ability to help small nano startups connect with large-scale federal and corporate entities. And Virginia also can promote nanotechnology in its overall economic-development marketing efforts, he said.
