Carbon nanotubes for on-chip interconnect are a logic maybe

Abstract:
EDN Executive Editor Ron Wilson: We often hear that CMOS logic technology is facing a certain end. Scaling will stop working at some level—22 nm, 15 nm, or whatever—and a replacement will be needed. One of the most often named candidates for this job is the carbon nanotube. But comments on continuing researchinto the area at the IMEC annual research review last week suggest that we probably shouldn’t be holding our breath.
