Laser-powered cantilevers lighten payload

Abstract:
Scientists have come up with a CMOS compatible, direct patterning technique for making arrays of optically activated cantilevers out of lightweight carbon nanotube film. Micro-optomechanical systems (MOMS) made using a CMOS compatible, direct patterning technique could help reduce the cost of space exploration say scientists from the University of Delaware, US.
