Surfing a nano world

Abstract:
Billing its product as a major improvement on standard materials, Oceanit Laboratories Inc. has created what its senior nanotechnology engineer, Vinod Veedu, calls the world's first nanotech surfboard. The difference lies in the resin that coats the foam and fiberglass. This resin contains tiny particles of titanium that Kitajima likens to rebar in concrete -- only much, much smaller. In fact, the nanoparticles are only 20 nanometers long.
