Va. research sheds light on brain tumors

Abstract:
Virginia researchers are loading tiny, hollow carbon balls with metals and medicine they say could improve the ability to detect and destroy brain-cancer cells. The research is funded by a five-year, $3.7 million grant from the National Cancer Institute announced in October. It's part of a nanotechnology initiative by the institute.
