Boehlert-Walrath battle rages

Abstract:
Incumbent Rep. Sherwood Boehlert of New Hartford wants more money spent on research and development, creating the seeds of new industries at those universities, including Binghamton University in Vestal.

"Nanotechnology development is a major focus of the new Binghamton Center of Excellence in Small-Scale Systems led by Dr. Bahgat Sammakia, and is the technology of the future for local companies like Endicott Interconnect," Boehlert said. He said he would support more spending on that, similar to the $800 million he sponsored in 2003.
