Taiwan sets example for tech parks
Abstract:
Taiwan now invests $1.2 billion a year, or 2.3 percent of its gross domestic product, in research and development efforts. That nation's federal government has set national science and technology priorities, and is concentrating its research and commercialization efforts in the areas of telecommunications, agriculture biotechnology, nanotechnology, genomic medicine, hazards mitigation, digital archiving, and pharmaceuticals.
