Nanotech feeding into industry
Abstract:
The variety of consumer-related applications for nanotechnology is growing. Worldwide, products being developed include scratch-resistant coatings, longer-lasting batteries, more powerful fuel cells and even gentler cosmetics. Vanderbilt University is on the forefront of the discovery process. The school's researchers are using nanotech manufacturing to create diamonds, one of the hardest substances known and a product that it hopes will find a wide commercial use.
