Pataki vetoes budget items

Abstract:
Pataki also vetoed more than $723 million layered onto his $3.4 billion capital plan for the CUNY and SUNY systems, including almost $40 million earmarked for the University at Albany for nanotechnology consortium project, considered a "critical" piece of the puzzle, according to Doug Grose, Albany Nanotech's chief financial officer. He further cut $20 million for a nano-biotechnology initiative and $20 million for a cancer research program.
