UMass eyes new site for nanotech center

Abstract:
The latest wrinkle in University of Massachusetts Lowell official's plans for their portion of the $44.5 million Lawrence Mills redevelopment would have the university's nanotechnology manufacturing research center built in a new facility at Aiken and Perkins streets. Meeting with city councilors last Friday, Diana Prideaux-Brune, the university's vice chancellor for facilities, said because the center requires cutting-edge laboratories, a new building would be more suitable for it.
