Council backs tax break for Eikos Inc.
Abstract:
Town Council approved a tax cut for Eikos Inc. last night that will save the Master Drive nanotechnology company approximately $16,600 in taxes over six years, provided the deal clears two more hurdles. The Tax Increment Financing agreement would allow Eikos to expand its facility without being taxed on the new space. That would enable it to hire more people and aid the local economy, Downtown Manager Carol Harper said.
