Houston must act on nanotechnology opportunities

Abstract:
Nanotechnology offers Houston the greatest economic development opportunity of our lifetime. Two years ago, Scientific American magazine noted that nanotechnology "could lay the groundwork for a new industrial revolution." Nanotechnology is the only field of science where Texas has a world recognized leadership position. Certainly we have world recognized leaders in science and technology, however this is the only field where Texas as a whole is recognized as a leader worldwide.
