A Fusion of Ideas
Abstract:
The future of UC Berkeley lies in the gaping hole that will one day become seven-story Stanley Hall. What is now a site littered with steel beams and concrete blocks will soon become a $162 million monolith dedicated to a newer breed of research that melds different fields of study. By last May, they had whittled the possibilities down to five finalists - computational biology, nano-sciences and nano-engineering, regional and metropolitan studies, new media, and “The Future of the Planet."
