New technologies mean only nimble workers need apply

Abstract:
Fast-changing technologies will render many current professions and businesses obsolete, a U.S. Army futurist said Tuesday. "I do believe that technology will steal jobs in some ways," said Trace Gunsch, emerging-technology critical skill expert at the Technology Integration Center at Fort Huachuca. Disruptive technologies - developments that cause a major change in the way we do things - will make selecting a career an ever-moving target, he said.
