Biotech, ICT researchers secure E10m

Abstract:
Eleven biotech and ICT researchers in three Irish universities have secured almost E10m to fund their projects. The "BioT" awards go to recipients who will be conducting research that may lead to new treatments for neuro-degenerative diseases - such as Alzheimer's - diseases of the retina and AIDs-related infections, while in ICT research, awards go to investigations into sentient networks and nano-materials for novel electronic devices.
