Nanotechnology's Societal Impact to Be Studied

Abstract:
Dwayne Hunter: With the growing risk of a backlash against nanotechnology, the US National Science Foundation has announced unprecedented funding to support study of nanotechnology's societal implications. The NSF has announced two grants of more than US$1 million apiece. The grants are the largest the foundation has devoted exclusively to studying the societal implications of nanotechnology.
