Don't be afraid of the grey goo

Abstract:
Grey goo, nanobots, a moratorium on nanotechnology: it seems that science fiction has displaced science fact. The recent concerns voiced by Prince Charles over the societal implications of nanotechnology, combined with comparisons to the debate over genetically modified food, make uncomfortable reading for those of us engaged in nanotechnology research.
