Plan would close Berkeley lab facility
Abstract:
A Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory research facility famous for its role in creating new elements on the periodic table will be shut down under a proposal revealed Monday in the president's 2004 budget. Despite the disappointment, the Berkeley lab got good news, too, in the form of money to build a new nanotechnology research building and funds to design a supernova research satellite.
