SEMATECH to Showcase Innovation and Advances in Manufacturing at SEMICON Japan 2014: SEMATECH experts will share the latest techniques, emerging trends and best practices in advanced manufacturing strategies and methodologies

Albany, NY | Posted on November 26th, 2014

SEMATECH will host a Manufacturing Forum at TechSTAGE South on Wednesday, 3 December from 10:20 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Technical experts from SEMATECH will explore trends and challenges in critical device measurements, EUV source, masks and resists, and share emerging concepts and technologies through comprehensive industry-wide collaboration.

On Thursday, 4 December from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., SEMATECH will host a Manufacturing Symposium to address the technological and financial challenges in semiconductor process technologies and manufacturing. Industry experts from leading manufacturers will discuss the future of semiconductor manufacturing, including fabs for the future, 450 mm development, optimization of obsolescent fabs and tools, and equipment suppliers' perspectives.

Additionally, on 4 December, SEMATECH will highlight a variety of technology solutions and manufacturing methods through various presentations:

· Dr. Michael Lercel, SEMATECH's senior director and chief technologist, will join other distinguished industry experts at the STS Session2 Advanced Devices/Process. As an invited speaker, Dr. Lercel will present results of projects with a direct focus on the process of building and yielding nanoscale devices for a manufacturing environment.

· Dr. Satyavolu Papa Rao, SEMATECH's director of Process Technology, will present current process technology challenges with III-V device fabrication and share ideas that are being considered to address these challenges at the manufacturing scale at the STS Session1 Advanced Devices/Process.

In conjunction with SEMICON Japan, SEMATECH technologists are scheduled to speak at the International Symposium on Semiconductor Manufacturing (ISSM) on Tuesday, 2 December at the Hyatt Regency, in Tokyo.

· Dr. Satyavolu Papa Rao, SEMATECH's director of Process Technology, "Understanding and Controlling Semiconductor Manufacturing Variability: A SEMATECH Mission," from 15:10-15:30.

· Dr. Michael Lercel, SEMATECH's senior director and chief technologist, "Measurement and Control of Nanodefects in Liquids," from 16:30-16:50.

Some of SEMATECH's most prominent technologists in the nanoelectronics industry will be attending SEMICON Japan. To schedule a meeting with executives and technical experts, please contact SEMATECH's manager of Business Development, Brian Sapp at .

SEMICON Japan has become the largest international exhibition of semiconductor equipment and materials. Bringing companies and their technologies together with customers and partners, as well as providing a setting for technical seminars and meetings, SEMICON Japan actively supports the growth of the global semiconductor industry.
