Abstract:
SouthWest NanoTechnologies (SWeNT) a leading manufacturer of single-wall, few-wall and multi-wall carbon nanotubes for printed electronics, energy storage and composites applications has added Ovation Polymers to its "SWeNT Certified Compounder" program for its line of SMWTM Specialty Multi-Wall Carbon Nanotubes (CNT) products.

SouthWest NanoTechnologies Names Ovation Polymers as a SWeNT Certified Compounder

Norman, OK | Posted on August 6th, 2014

SWeNT's SMW materials yield dramatic improvements in thermal and/or electrical conductivity and mechanical strength in composite systems with a wide range of industrial polymers, resins and elastomers such as polyethylene, polycarbonate, polyamide and polypropylene.

SWeNT's Certified Compounder Program recognizes the outstanding proficiency of select partners in compounding SMW CNTs with such materials to create advanced composites for commercial application.

"The market for conductive thermoplastics is growing at a fast pace," explains Ovation's Interim CEO James Dye. "Customers are demanding composites with improved cleanliness, electrical, thermal and mechanical properties at the same time, in an expanding range of polymers. SWeNT's SMW products have enabled us to meet these unique demands/specs for niche applications at right price/performance ratio. We're pleased to be designated a SWeNT Certified Compounder and look forward to tackling new market opportunities engendered by the advanced composite systems we're developing."

According to Dave Arthur, CEO of SouthWest NanoTechnologies. "Ovation is a world-class compounder with extensive experience working with CNTs. Together, we're in a great position to propel advanced nanomaterial composites to the next level, both technologically and commercially. We are pleased that Ovation Polymers has invested in developing an array of groundbreaking composite materials, including CNT masterbatch, using our SMW products."
